Schools of the Future Conference 2024

I just returned from a two-day conference at the Honolulu Convention Center called Schools of the Future. It brought together school administrators, faculty, teachers, principals, and curriculum designers, with inspiring presentations from innovative speakers on topics like AI in education to the importance of planting a peace garden.
One key realization hit me deeply: The Loving Purple Light is more important than ever. In this fast-paced, knowledge-rich, technological age, being well and grounded is essential.
At the conference, I connected with two fantastic Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculums-Harmony and Choose Love. Both showed great enthusiasm for the idea of, The Loving Purple Light as a supplemental tool for SEL programs, addressing a missing component: centering well-being within the school day.
I’m so grateful to the Hawaiian Community Foundation for inviting me. I also participated in an SEL advisory group focused on creating awareness for our state’s rich culture of aloha and diversity and how SEL is part of Hawaii’s culture. The discussion centered on how to keep these connections thriving in education, working from a strong sense of self to grow well-being for all. I’m considering joining this important advisory group—what a meaningful opportunity!
Feeling inspired and deeply grateful to see how The Loving Purple Light can enhance so many current initiatives!
